FAQs

How do I enroll?

Drop us an email at woof@dogdaysni.co.uk and we will forward you on an application form and talk you through the enrolment process. Your dog will need to have the kennel cough vaccination and will need to complete an induction day.

Must my dog attend daycare regularly or can they come on a 1 off?

We recommend that you attend at least once a week and you must attend at least once every 2 weeks.

Does my dog have to be neutered to attend daycare?

Males over the age of 1 year old must be neutered to attend daycare.

What happens on my dog's induction day?

During an induction day we assess your dogs suitability for daycare as well as our suitability for your dog. Not all dogs are a good fit for daycare and that is ok! We are looking to see how your dog reacts to us, other dogs, how they act around food, toys, beds, waterbowls, gates and how they get on without their pawrents.

This usually takes at least a couple of hours, if all goes well your dog can stay for a full day. We recommend picking them up either just before or after nap time.

What does a typical daycare day look like?

  • We keep our days as structured as possible to ensure that our dogs know the routine.

  • Drop offs are from 7:30am to 10:30am – this is a very energetic time, with dogs finding play partners and greeting dogs as they enter the play area.

  • 10:30am - 12pm things slow down and we bring toys out for the higher energy dogs who arent quite ready for nap time.

  • 12-1:30pm dogs who are being walked or getting lunches get them in this window. Half days leave and our dogs are ready for nap time

  • 1:30pm - 3pm sssshhhh nap time. This is vital for healthy happy dogs. We do not allow any pick ups or drop offs during this time.

  • 3pm - 6pm Hometime, we bring out lots of chew toys at this time and there is some more relaxed play as the dogs wait to get picked up.

Are dogs supervised at all times?

Of course, by fully trained, over 21 year old staff. All of our staff have years of experience working with animals.

How many dogs do you allow per staff member?

This is a very important question to ask any daycare you are considering. We are very strict on our daycare numbers and we follow England with a ratio of 12 dogs per staff member.
